The student thesis by Alexandra Baumgartner (BA Camera Arts) addresses the progressive loss of biodiversity and is expressed through analogue and digital photography as well as collages.

The book focuses on local initiatives for the preservation of old varieties and the fight against the restrictive patent policy of agrochemical companies. It also emphasises the cultural significance of cultivated plants and invites readers to reflect on their own relationship with our natural environment.

“How like a leaf I am” was nominated for the Unseen Dummy Award 2019 and came in second place.
